"Thoughts of Heaven"

from $60.00

This shot was taken with a 35mm camera. I discovered my love of 35mm photography after my digital cameras were stolen. Honestly, my equipment being stolen was the best thing that happened to me as a photographer. Transitioning from digital to film forced me to slow down with my photography. From taking the right shot at the right moment to waiting for the film to be developed, shooting film requires skill, patience and a finely tuned creative eye.

I was living in Kentucky when I took this shot; it was in the first roll of film I ever shot through. I was looking outside my window, sometime during the winter, when this bird landed on that barren tree. I wondered what it was doing there. There was not much left on it to eat, no shelter, no nest. It was just perched there. Motionless. I figured it must have had “thoughts of heaven.”

*Canvas available in: 8x12; 10x15; 11x17; 16x24; 20x30; 24x36; 30x45

*Metallic available in: 7x5; 8x12; 12x18; 16x24
